The most popular types of textile fibers used to make webbing are displayed on this chart: Nylon, Polypropylene, Cotton and Polyester. The chart shows the melting or charring  temperatures of these different material fibers. Also shown on the chart, are relative comparisons of the characteristics of the webbing types like cost,  strength, abrasion resistance, resistance to UV (Ultra Violet) light, Mildew resistance, Resistance to Acids, Alkalis and resistance to oil & gas, the most common petroleum distillates in general use.
