Tarp Length: (Feet + Inches) (up to 60 ft. long)

Note: Enter the longest dimension of your tarp here, not in the Width entry menu;
or your tarp will be quoted a higher price. Labor costs are calculated by the width of
the tarp; based on the number of seams to sew or weld.

  Feet  +  Inches

Tarp Width: (Feet + Inches) (up to 25 ft. wide)
If you plan on doing your own calculations to find the number of widths of material
required to make a particular size of tarp; Please note the following: The material is
62'' wide; you lose a total of 5'' of material folding over the hems (2.5'' for each
hem) and you lose 3'' of material overlapping for each seam. Reducing the width of
your tarp by 1'', may reduce the cost of your tarp by $200 or more. The larger the
tarp, the more it stretches; so the 1'' reduction in width may not even be noticed.

  Feet  +   Inches

 Mesh Type & Color:
(please review mesh types and specifications from the product literature below)
Note: Mesh type and color is mostly a matter of preference, but there are differences
between the types of mesh; how the tarp is going to be used may determine the
mesh type. The 1.8mm mesh is less expensive, but the 0.75mm mesh is stronger
 and more durable.

 Grommet Size & Color:

(Grommet Color / Finish; all our grommets are solid brass; nickel plated brass; or
black anodized brass) Note: We offer two standard size grommets #2 (3/8'' hole) and
#4 (1/2'' hole). The #2 grommets are smaller and less expensive. However: the #4
grommets are larger and have more more holding area, Larger grommets will resist
pulling out under strain, better than smaller size grommets. We offer three finishes
(colors) of grommets. Plain brass (gold color) grommets are the least expensive, but
will turn a dull color after a short time. Nickel plated grommets will stay shiny silver,
much longer. Black Anodized Grommets will stay the same dark, dull color
 indefinately.

 Grommet Spacing: (Inches)
(in inches; on all sides of tarp, in addition to one grommet in each corner of the
tarp) Note: Grommet spacing will affect the total number of grommets in your tarp.
Labor costs are calculated in part; by the number of grommets that need to be
installed in a tarp. A higher grommet spacing distance will result in fewer grommets
along all sides of your tarp and a lower tarp price. However: more grommets means
a more durable tarp; as pulling forces and strain on grommets during tiedown is
distributed to more spots along a wider area; reducing stress on grommets and tarp
 seams.

 Seam Joining Method:

(If your tarp is wider than 4 feet; Seams are the joints between the widths of mesh
material which are roughly 62 inches wide)  Note: Hems refer to the perimeter
edges of the tarp. All Hems and are all double stitched & reinforced
with 1.5 inch
webbing as standard practice. Note: Sewn Seams are stronger, but Welded Seams
  are less expensive.

Heavy Gauge Solid Brass Grommets in a Choice of 2 sizes and 3 finishes (colors)

Bright Brass Grommets - 11 sizes from 00 through 10Nickel Plated Grommets - 11 sizes from 00 through 10Blackened Grommets - 8 sizes from 00 through 6

Choose the color and size of your Grommets. We offer two standard size grommets for our tarps: Size #2 with a center hole diameter of 3/8' (0.375 inches) and Size #4 with a center hole diameter of 1/2'' (0.500 inches)

Each size Grommets come in Brass Finish (gold color), Nickel Finish (silver color), and Black Anodized (dull black color). All of these finishes are heavy gauge solid brass base metal; made in America.

Note: these are NOT the cheap, flimsy, thin aluminum grommets found in 'off the shelf' tarps that you would get from your local 'big box' retail store.

Choose the Grommet Spacing for your Tarp
Illustration of Grommet Spacing - Choose the spacing of grommets in hemmed edges of your tarp

This is a feature you will not find in an 'off the shelf' tarp. We offer 7 standard grommet spacings: 6'' , 8'' , 10'', 12", 18", 24 and 36"  We also offer the choice of a tarp without any grommets.

Most 'off the shelf' tarps have grommet spacings of 18'' or 24''. This may not be enough of grommets to properly secure the tarp, leaving large gaps and 'puckers' especially when securing the tarp to irregularly shaped items like: drilling rigs, boats, cement mixers, construction equipment and piles of assorted lumber and building materials.

Quality comes standard - Webbing Reinforced, Double Stitched Hems Exploded view of double stitched tarp hems reinforced with 1.5 inch polypro webbing - a standard tarp feature

All of our tarps come standard with double folded and double stitched Hems reinforced with 1.5 inch wide Polypropylene Webbing that has an 800 lb. tensile strength rating for maximum durability and grommet retention.

The weakest part of any tarp is the edges, by reinforcing the edges with webbing, you turn the weakest part of the tarp into it's strongest part.

With webbing reinforcing, grommets have more material to hold onto, and seams will not come apart at the edges; which is the most likely place for seam failure.

Other tarp manfacturers often do not reinforce tarp edges with webbing and double stitched hems; because they know a tarp will wear out much faster without these quality features.

Our tarps may cost more, but they are designed to last longer than the cheaply made tarps you buy off the shelf at the "big box stores", and all our tarps are made in America.

Seams: Choice of  Double Stitched or Welded
Detail of Double Stitched Seams option for vinyl mesh tarps (shown here without hems for illustrative purposes)
Detail of Welded Seams option for mesh tarps (shown without hems and with different color mesh for illustrative purposes)

We offer a choice of welded seams or double stitched seams. The most common point of failure for tarp seams is along the edges.

Its simple to visualize: think about a ripping a piece of paper. Its a lot easier to start a tear from an edge of the paper than it is from the center of the paper. If you reinforce the edge of the paper by taking a length of tape and folding it over the edge, now its a lot harder to rip the paper from the edge.

This is the same for a tarp: if you reinforce the edges, the tarp is less likely to tear. This is why we offer both welding and sewing as choices for seam joining.

Welded tarp seams are perfectly good enough when the edges of the tarp are reinforced with webbing and double stitched hems.

Double stitched seams are more expensive than welded seams, but the double stitched seams are stronger. If your tarp is going to be used in a situation where the seams will be put under heavy stress; then you would do well to pay the extra money for double stitched seams.
